On the 25th, Yu Liuqi, deputy director of the Wuhan Urban Management and Law Enforcement Committee, said at the press conference on the construction of a "zero waste city" in Wuhan that Wuhan is promoting the reduction of domestic waste at the source. At present, focusing on various large-scale catering stores and noodle restaurants, soup restaurants, and hot pot restaurants, the three-phase separation device for food waste is installed to promote the reduction of food waste at the source. In the next step, "charges" and "subsidies" will be used as levers to promote the introduction of classified metering charges and subsidy policies for the recycling and utilization of low-value recyclables to promote the reduction of domestic waste at the source.

Through the combination of online and offline, it provides channels for online reservation and offline recycling into the community, and improves the resource utilization of low-value recyclables such as glass and plastic. Build temporary storage and disposal sites for bulky waste and decoration waste, collect and transport them separately at the source, and handle them specially. By the end of 2022, the new kitchen waste treatment capacity will be 1,000 tons per day, and by 2024, the total kitchen waste treatment capacity will reach more than 3,000 tons per day, realizing the "resourceful" utilization of kitchen waste.

At present, there are 12 domestic waste treatment facilities in the city, with a daily processing capacity of 14,000 tons, which basically meet the needs of harmless treatment of domestic waste. At the same time, the construction of 6 domestic waste incineration and 5 kitchen waste disposal projects will be accelerated, and the formation of a domestic waste classification and disposal pattern with incineration as the mainstay, biochemistry as the supplement, coordinated supplementation, and landfill emergency backup will be promoted. By 2023, the primary waste " Zero Landfill".
